“Perfectly moist and well seasoned fried chicken paired with light and fluffy waffles. Sounds good already? Joe Fortes ups the ante with a sweet and spicy Siracha honey mustard sauce that ties the pieces of the dish together in absolute bliss.”
“My southern in-laws would be upset for me saying this, but these were the best chicken and waffles I've ever had.
The waffles were fluffy and just a bit crunchy, so in other words, absolutely perfect. The fried chicken was juicy and the batter was perfectly seasoned. The restaurant should seriously consider a rename to 'Joe Fortes' House of Fried Chicken' or at least offer fried chicken as a standard dinner entree available seven nights a week.
The two fried chicken pieces come interleaved between the waffles and is covered with a maple butter, maple syrup and a chili glaze made from what tastes like sriracha. It is definitely a hearty brunch, but certainly worth the calories and ensuing food coma since you'll get a glimmer of foodie nirvana with each bite.
Call it blasphemous, but I like to eat my chicken separate from the waffles. Joe Fortes' accommodated my odd eating habit by leaving the sauces separate so I dissect the dish to my heart's content.
Thanks the staff at Joe Fortes for an unforgettable brunch!”
